Kara has inspired so many sharing her personal story as a closeted fourth-grade teacher, turned out and proud designer and speaker as an advocate for the inclusion and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community.
UNIQUE JOURNEY: Raised in the Midwest, with a BA in Elementary Education followed by a MA in Curriculum and Instruction both from the University of Kansas, Kara taught first in Kansas and later in California. We made plans (the three of us) and 10 minutes in, the two of them ditched me. Now almost 10 years later, those two lovebirds are happily married, moved to Portland and have a furry dog daughter named Scout.”
