By: McKenzie Faucher, Three Day Rule Matchmaker
After much anticipation, I’m thrilled that Three Day Rule, LA’s hottest matchmaking company, has finally made it to Boston! I’ve been passionate my whole life about helping friends, loved ones, and co-workers navigate the challenges of the dating world and making successful romantic connections. I couldn’t be more excited to be the one to introduce TDR’s services to Boston.
It’s no coincidence that we’re launching in Boston today…just in time for the holidays. Because, let’s face it: winter is coming and there’s nothing quite like the wind chill in Boston. We could all use a cutie to snuggle up with or steal a kiss with under the mistletoe this holiday season. To celebrate TDR’s launch in Boston, I wanted to share my top reasons why singles should love the dating scene in Boston:
Opportunity is everywhere! It’s no secret that Boston is a city brimming with incredibly smart, passionate, and successful people. Fun fact about Boston — 50.2% of the city’s population is single, which means if you’re still on the hunt for a partner, you have plenty of company! Also, the average Bostonian tends to get married later in life (for women, it’s 28.8 and for men, it’s 30.1) vs. the national median (for women, it’s 26.9 and for men, it’s 29.8) so if you’re currently unattached, you should feel less pressure. The city also boosts some of the highest rates of college-educated professionals in the country. With so many interesting, educated fish in the sea – the sense of possibility is endless.
It’s the perfect place to fall in love. I moved here six years ago from California to start my first job out of college and honestly, wasn’t sure what to expect. I ended up falling in love with this city, but more importantly, meeting the love of my life, who is now my husband. Having experienced it first hand, there’s nothing quite like dating and falling in love in Boston. Of all the seasons in the year, winter in Boston is my favorite. It’s the perfect time to find a honey to hibernate with to keep you warm during the chilly nights. By the time springtime rolls around, you’ll have a regular companion to enjoy Red Sox games and watch the Boston Pops. And, before you know it, it’ll be summer again, and you’ll be planning romantic weekend getaways together to the Cape, Nantucket, and Newport.
Diverse, vibrant neighborhoods to explore. We’ve got something for everyone in Boston,
for any romantic occasion. When you’re in the mood for a lovely evening stroll, there’s the Waterfront, with majestic views that never get old. If you’re looking to impress a date at a swanky, cocktail lounge, some of my favorites include The Hawthorne, Alibi at The Liberty Hotel, Empire on Waterfront, Oak Long Bar + Kitchen in Back Bay, and Drink on Waterfront. Or, if you’re more into the casual, pub scene, you can hit up Five Horses Tavern in the South End, Bostonia Public House in the Financial District, and Stoddards in the Theatre District. Craving a delicious meal without wanting to spend a fortune? There’s Cheap Date Night at Myers and Chang in the South End on Mondays and Tuesdays, where you can get a prix fixed menu for $45 a couple. The abundance of night life and restaurant options – regardless of your preferences – make Boston the ideal place to date.
